Every year the Global Business Coalition against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria rewards companies for outstanding achievement in the fight against the diseases.
The Coalition’s most recent conference was held on June 2nd 2011 in New York and included an awards ceremony to mark the tenth anniversary of the GBC. The event attracted over 500 businessmen, politicians, experts and representatives of international organisations, who discussed the role of the private sector in addressing public health problems while honouring the finalists and award winners.
The six places in the final were contested by 76 companies from all over the world. An authoritative independent jury selected the finalists, including Coca‑Cola Hellenic Russia, whose program, entitled “HIV prevention among young people in a national context”, earned them the nomination for “Investing in the Community”. This is the first program implemented by a Russia-based international company to reach the final, and as such represents a major victory for Coca‑Cola Hellenic Russia.
