Athens – 24 November 2010 – Coca‑Cola Hellenic has won the prestigious International Fleet Safety of the Year award – as well as being placed second and third in two other Award categories. The company, which operates its fleet of over 20,000 vehicles across 28 countries, received the accolade at the Fleet Europe Awards 2010, which took place on Thursday 18 November at a glittering gala dinner held at the Brussels Stock Exchange.
Coca‑Cola Hellenic Bottling Company S.A. (“Coca‑Cola Hellenic”, the “Company”) shared its industry-leading CO2 reduction success with business, government and academic delegates from across Europe, at the CSR Europe, Enterprise 2020 Marketplace event in Brussels last week.
Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, visited the Coca‑Cola Hellenic bottling plant in County Antrim, Northern Ireland to tour the recently opened factory and to officially open the new Coca‑Cola Visitors Centre.
Under the agreement, Coca‑Cola Hellenic will be responsible for the sales, distribution and in-market activation for Brown-Forman’s brands, including Jack Daniel’s, Finlandia Vodka and el Jimador Tequila. Brown-Forman will continue to manage the manufacture, development and marketing of its brands. Coca‑Cola Hellenic will begin distributing Brown-Forman’s products in all regions of Russia from October 22, 2010. Brown-Forman products are distributed by Coca‑Cola Hellenic in other markets, including Hungary, Ukraine, Serbia and Croatia.
On the 9th of October, 2010 at Moscow Lokomotiv stadium the final games of Coca‑Cola Hellenic in Russian mini-football Corporate Championship were conducted. Several months before qualifying summer tournaments took place in Russian regions where Coca‑Cola Hellenic does its business. Over 2000 employees attended all football competitions.
In the frame of Russia's largest annual retail summit "Retail Business Russia 2010" which took place on 9-10 September in Moscow, The Coca‑Cola System became one of the winners of the annual Industry award - "Retail Grand Prix 2010". In "Best promotional campaign of the year" The Coca‑Cola System took participation with the "World Cup FIFA with COCA-COLA" promo and was recognized as the best.
In 2008, Coca‑Cola Hellenic in Russia and the UNESCO office in Moscow initiated Volga Day on May 20th as annual event on the international environment calendar in order to coordinate the efforts on protecting the biodiversity of the Volga and to involve local communities.
Since 2004, Coca‑Cola Hellenic in Russia’s Green teams conduct clean-ups. Annually, about 10,000 people participate in clean-up events in city parks, along riverbanks, lakes, ponds, and nature reserves.
