Our bottles are made on a blow moulding machine.
A PET preform (a fully formed bottle neck with a thick tube of polymer attached, which will form the body) goes into the blow moulding machine and, under high air pressure, assumes the bottle shape of the mould. The result: plastic bottles that are ready to be transferred to the bottling machine.
Did you know?
- The blow moulding machine follows the laws of nature (dark things heat up more quickly): blue and green preforms heat up faster than transparent ones
- The preforms are heated to 240 degrees and blown under 40atm of pressure (for comparison, water pressure from a tap is 1.5atm)
- The smallest preform – for a 0.5l bottle – is 87mm high; blowing these bottles takes an average of 3 seconds
